Why do we get under eye bags?

Older people often have bags under their eyes. Also young people can get them if they have slept badly. What is the reason for under eye bags?

why do we have under eye bags

If you are tired, for example after a really bad night’s sleep, the muscles generally loosen and relax. This is why it can be so difficult to get on the limbs when you have not slept adequately. The common relaxation in the body also includes the circular muscular around the eyes (musculus orbicularis oculi). However, the skin around the eyes is very thin, only about 0.5 millimeters. When compared, the skin is about two millimeters thick in other parts of the body. In addition, the skin on the eyes is very elastic and relatively loosely attached to the connective tissue and the muscular underneath. This means  that the relaxation of the muscles becomes particularly visible right here, and therefore the characteristic bags under the eyes are hard to hide.

By the way, the particular structure around the eye also means that a normal fluid accumulation in the body manifests itself here and can further help boost the impression of bags under the eyes. Nevertheless, there is a variety of under eye bags seen on different people. This is because heredity plays a crucial role here. Bags under the eyes are largely something inherited from  parents.

This is also clearly seen around the eyes when the connective tissue loses its elasticity due to age. This is why older people usually have bigger and clear bags than younger ones. When the connective tissue loses its elasticity due to age, this is also clearly seen around the eyes.
